I can suspend my belief for vehicle detection and assume that due to martial law, use of vehicles on non-official business is prohibited for civilians, likewise that all Sentinel vehicle use is pre-approved for specific movements and tasks only. Lastly, I believe there should be a specific reduction to enemy detection when inside vehicles, especially if those vehicles belong to Sentinel. My most memorable skirmishes in Breakpoint are when the I have unknowingly wandered into an enemy line of site, and I would love this to be expanded for AI squad detection. This is a huge immersion breaker, I understand that Sentinel forces would likely not engage an unidentified group of armed individuals patrolling down the road at 200-300 metres due to potentially firing upon their own forces, but I would love it if there was an enhanced detection option in the game that would increase the enemy AI detection distance in unobstructed line of site at 150 metres moving them into an alert phase, and at 100 metres they would be able to positively ID us moving them into an attack phase.Īdditionally, I would also love it if there was a toggle option for enemy detection to be triggered by my AI squad mates (Despite the likely minor annoyances of questionable pathfinding). In game enemy detection appears to be normally 20 -30 metres unobstructed, and a little further when elevated with clear line of site (or perhaps that's just the enemy sniper class?). However, enemy detection distance is remarkably low and is likely one of the leading factors to why people brand the enemy AI as "dumb". Perhaps I am setting the bar to high due to a false sense of real life experience as a soldier. But there is one thing that I can't change which I believe is the most immersion breaking feature that would benifits from a development update, that is enhancing enemy detection. Now I'm a glutton for punishment, my difficulty sliders are maxed, I carry minimum gear, restricted HUD and have assigned my health/stamina settings to be at the most vulnerable.

The devs really need to be commended for all the hard work that hade gone in to improving Breakpoint post release, it is definitely a better experience today than it was 12 months ago.

I love this franchise and despite its short falls I keep coming back to Breakpoint, there is just no other game on a console platform that comes close to a light simulation of military field craft the way breakpoint does, even if it's exaggerated and summarised.
